We started Cycle Bella Italia because we love to ride in Italy and want to share the experience with cycling friends. We have toured the area often, and know the best routes, towns to visit, wine shops and places of interest. We believe you’ll appreciate Tuscany, Lake Como and Italy even more after visiting with us.
We love to ride. We know what makes for a great ride. We can help our guests to achieve their desired cycling experience.
We believe you will truly enjoy riding in and experiencing Tuscany, Lake Como and Italy with Cycle Bella Italia.
Our base of operations in Tuscany is Pienza, a small hilltop town nestled in southern Tuscany. Pienza lies between towns of Montepulciano and Montalcino – two towns known for the prestigious Italian red wines of Brunello and Vino Nobile.
In 1459, Pope Pius II had the village Corsignano rebuilt as an ideal Renaissance town utilizing new urban planning methods that became the model for many other Italian towns. From the wall on the south side of the city, there is a breathtaking view of the Val d’Orcia – a UNESCO World Cultural Landscape that typifies the image of Tuscany.
In Lake Como, we stay in a small village on the lake, which is away from the town of Como itself, but gives us easy access to the town as well as all of the other lakes of the region.
In Tuscany, our guests stay in a beautiful little hotel in the town of Pienza. A two minute walk from the Hotel puts you right in the center of town, where there is plenty to explore and enjoy. In Lake Como, we stay at a small hotel in a village on Lake Como.
There are a wealth of activities in Tuscany and Como for our time after the daily rides. There are many small villages we can visit in the afternoon, or perhaps when in Tuscany, an excursion to Siena, which is a beautiful city like Florence, but on a smaller scale.
In addition, we arrange tastings for wine, olive oil and cheese, as well as cooking lessons and other activities if desired.
